Boasting a superb riverside location, The Gaucho Grill has been a most welcome addition to the Docklands area since opening in September 2000. The 120 cover restaurant, with outdoor seating for 40 overlooking the waterfront greets you on arrival with a stunning horseshoe shaped bar, open-plan kitchen, marble flooring and their trademark cow-hide seating.

The secret of the concept's success is the very highest quality Argentinian beef cooked on an Assado - an open concave grill heated by lava rocks - which is a main feature of the restaurant. The beef, which is sourced from free -range Angus herds that are grazed all year round, is cut and cooked in full view of the diners. The meat is never frozen and arrives at the grill from Argentina in refrigerated vacuum packs ensuring it remains exceptionally tender. The style of cooking is derived from the original Argentinian cowboy (Gaucho) tradition of cooking fresh meats over charcoal grills.

The menu itself offers a wide range of other meats and fish, all with a taste of Argentine character. Other specialities offered from the Assado include Lobster tails. Fresh Catch of the Day, Marinated chicken and Rack of lamb. A vegetarian dish is always available. Tempting side dishes include Hand Cut Chips, Pure de Papas (Mash Potato), Grilled vegetables and Choclo (Corn on the Corb). Round this off with a tantalising list of deserts, typical Argentine specialities such as Flan con Dulce de Leche to a Rich Chocolate Tart - you are sure to live The Gaucho Grill well-fed and satisfied.

We are situated in the oldest warehouse in the Docklands
(built 1802) overlooking Canary Wharf and the West India
Docks. Genuine 200 year old wooden beams,brick walls and a york stone floor, lends itself to a fabulous atmosphere for dining.

We specialise in funky, new world pizza's, brilliant burgers, pasta's & salads. We have a large heated outside seating area, which in summer months is perfect for whiling away the afternoon or evening with a cocktail, milkshake, cold beer or wine from our extensive drinks list. Fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the chef did not dissapoint. We had an excellent three course meal with drinks that would please the most discerning pallette and with a  romantic setting over looking the lights of Docklands £45 a head including service.

 It was well worth the hardship of the journey. ( we were 45 minutes late due to Lime House tunnel closure- but they managed to get our table with a view ready in 10 )
