The Royal Naval College

JB Greenwich Royal Naval College towers SW June 06.jpgGreenwich , SE10

The Royal Naval College stands on a site originally occupied by a Tudor palace which was the favourite residence of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I but it fell into disrepair and the building which stands today was designed by architects Christopher Wren, Nicholas Hawksmoor and John Vanbrugh. The Royal Naval college is still in action today and many concerts are held in the chapel which is highly decorative in design. The Royal Naval college is now used by a University but the Chapel and Great Hall are usually open every day between 14.30hrs and 17.00hrs, Occasionally the college is closed for special events and prior notice is preferred for disabled visitors.
